Youth vs. Wild: Season 6

THEME

I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. (John 17:20-23)

The theme for Youth Vs. Wild Season 6 is One, based on John 17:20-23. Each night of the trip we will have a session that will include a time of worship, an individual devotional, and small group discussion. The goal for this week is to help students understand what the Bible has to say about community. First, they will realize that God has created them for community, because God Himself dwells in the community of the Trinity. They will then look at what it means to be a part of community and we will discuss how to best engage with those in around us. Finally, we will talk about the ultimate end goal of community- which is to be a blessing to those around us. The hope of choosing this theme of One for Youth Vs. Wild is that our students would recognize the importance of uniting together as a group, regardless of schools, ages, and different interests. God has given us this amazing community of Harris Creek Youth Ministry. Our prayer for this trip is that the students would come back thankful to be a part of such a group, and with a deeper realization of what being in true community means for them and the outside world.

PRAYER

“Prayer opens the way for God Himself to do His work in us and through us. Let our chief work as God’s messengers be intercession; in it we secure the presence and power of God to go with us.” -Andrew Murray

Prayer is the most vital part of any ministry; it is the vehicle through which discipleship and growth happen. The Youth Ministry at Harris Creek prays as we plan and prepare for all ministry activities, meetings, trips, and discipleship opportunities for your students. Prayer gives us the proper attitude and perspective as we interact with students and as we see them engage with God. This perspective of God and His work constantly reminds us that the goal of this ministry is spiritual growth.

We want you to know how much prayer has already gone into this trip. We didn’t make any of these plans idly, but truly believe that God has been guiding this process and that He has gone before us. To follow up with the prayer groundwork that has been laid so far, we ask you to partner with us and continue to intercede for these youth during this week of camp..

Your prayers matter. As we all, lift up individual voices of petition to God, they will unite in a resounding chorus of prayer to God. We are expectant of His presence and the work that He will do this week because of these honest, heartfelt prayers. Thank you so much for committing to join us in praying over our Youth Ministry this week!
