Lent Day 17 Reflection

For 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday, Harris Creek will be reading through a devotional guide called “Seeking God for the City” provided by Waymakers, and our blog will be sharing reflections from those inspired by the daily devotionals. As a change of pace to the written pieces, here’s a brief reflection via video:

As I follow today’s prompt to pray for those involved in the news media, I pray for those in the newspaper industry. I know full well that companies must make cost-effective business decisions to keep up with technology and with narrow-margin budgets. Sometimes that means companies have to outsource or altogether close up shop, which sometimes means people are left unemployed.

After nearly 27 years in the industry, my dad is now one of those individuals after last week’s final print runs at a Fort Worth Star-Telegram distribution plant.

“God is good all the time; all the time God is good.”
I’m praying for you, and I love you, dad.
